Audiology (Hearing Testing)
Audiologists are registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASPLO). They do in-depth hearing testing for both children and adults. They provide diagnostic hearing evaluations, prescribe and dispense hearing aids and other amplification devices, assess central auditory processing function, do auditory evoked potential assessments and complete otoacoustic emissions testing. The Audiologists also provide hearing related counseling to hearing impaired clients and their families, consult with involved medical facilities and serve as a resource on hearing impairment to the community. Their role includes identification and management of hearing impairments.
