  Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists at the Centre may see children from birth until age 19 on referral from a physician. Infants and young children are seen to monitor and encourage the development of movement skills such as rolling, sitting, standing and walking. Exercise and activities are used to develop strength, stretch tight muscles, gain endurance and generally promote movement, balance, coordination and fitness.
The Physiotherapist works closely with the family and other caregivers to incorporate exercise and activity into the child's daily routine. More intensive therapy may be provided following orthopaedic surgery/intervention.

Physiotherapists use specialized equipment for therapy: therapy balls and rolls, free weights, treadmill, parallel bars, walkers, standers, biofeedback. Physiotherapists are involved in the prescription of aids to movement such as standers, walkers, crutches and wheelchairs.
