Referrals
Doctor referral is
one way to receive treatment from the
Prism Centre. You may also refer your child for services by calling the
Prism Centre directly. After being admitted as a client, the Prism Centre therapists can make a referral to a different treatment team. For example, if the occupational therapist thinks speech therapy may be needed, the occupational therapist will make a referral to have a speech-language pathology assessment
completed. Adults may refer themselves for hearing services.

Kent Infant Screening Program (K.
I. S. P.)
The Kent Infant Screening Program (K.
I. S. P.) was developed to help provide for the special needs of infants in
the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. The
agencies involved are: The Prism Centre, Chatham-Kent Children's Services, Chatham-Kent Health Unit, and
Chatham-Kent Health Alliance -
Social Work & Nursery. Staff from these agencies meet every week at
Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. At the meeting parents find out about services offered, and assistance to plan what is best for
the child and family. If the parent can not attend, a team member contacts them to follow-up.
